Amaro, Italie, le 14 mai 2008 - Le Groupe Eurotech, société italienne spécialisée dans les systèmes embarqués et les ordinateurs miniatures, et Intel (NASDAQ: INTC - actualité) , le plus grand fabricant de puces et leader mondial dans l'innovation silicone, ont signé un protocole pluriannuel d'entente technologique.

Selon les termes de ce protocole, signé lors de la visite de Pat Gelsinger, vice-président et directeur général de Digital Enterprise Group d'Intel, les deux sociétés travailleront ensemble pour développer des systèmes HPC basés sur les processeurs Intel. Ces systèmes répondront aux besoins d'élaboration liés aux analyses de fluides dynamiques, aérodynamiques et de calculs scientifiques.

The goal of the MoU is to help address the main scientific issues connected to Lattice Quantum Chromodynamics (LQCD), a discipline that studies the elementary forces of nature and in particular Strong Interaction Force which justifies the cohesion of nucleons (protons and neutrons) within an atomic nucleus.

Eurotech (Milan: ETH.MI - actualité) will use Intel's processors for its systems, offering a standards-based architecture which does not require the re-writing of specific software programs. Intel's processors also offer high performance with low power consumption, also making them ideal for extreme use systems.
